Summary

"I Don't Know, Do You?" by Marilla M. Ricker is a thought-provoking exploration of religion and rational thought. It critically examines religious doctrines and champions agnosticism and freethinking, urging readers to question traditional beliefs. The book starts with a dedication to Ralph Washburn Chainey for his dedication to freethought. Ricker expresses doubt about rigid religious rules, reflects on history, and suggests that as people learn and grow, strict religious beliefs might no longer make sense, calling for freedom from old-fashioned beliefs and invites open debate about faith and reason.
