Eyebright: A Story

"Eyebright: A Story" by Susan Coolidge is a children's book that follows the adventures of a young girl called Eyebright, who is famous for her bright eyes and creative mind. She goes through her school days, forms friendships, and gets into various adventures, which shows the innocence of childhood, the power of imagination, and how important friendship is, through her interactions with her friends and her experiences both in and out of school,starting in the school room where everyone is waiting for recess. Eyebright, along with her friend Bessie, spends time doing imaginative play, such as reenacting stories featuring Lady Jane Grey. These stories highlight childhood innocence, and the recess shows the bond between the children, and Eyebright's character is built up by her curiosity and love for storytelling, and all of this allows the reader to step into the world of Eyebright, and watch her grow up, going on adventures along the way.
