Summary

"The Wheels of Time" by Florence L. Barclay, is a story set in the early 1900's about love, commitment, and the tricky parts of being married. It centers on Dr. Deryck Brand and his wife, Flower, and how they deal with their family, friends, and Deryck's job as a doctor. Flower has a tough time as she tries to balance what her husband wants and being a good mom. Deryck wishes Flower would spend more time with him and is frustrated when he has to prepare for a big meeting alone. When Flower puts her home duties first instead of helping him, they start to fight. Things take a sharp turn when Deryck gets into a bad accident and his life is in danger. Flower realizes she might lose him and understands she needs to show him how much she loves him. The novel serves as a reminder of how important it is to be there for the people you care about and what can happen if you do not.
