Summary

"Knock Three-One-Two" by Fredric Brown is a thrilling crime story that takes you to a city gripped by fear. A psychopathic killer, known only as "the psycho," prowls the streets while Ray Fleck, a man drowning in debt and gambling problems, faces his own demons. As the psycho prepares to strike again in an apartment building, Ray struggles with his failing marriage and the pressure from his debts. Their paths, seemingly separate, begin to converge in a suspenseful exploration of how desperation and dark choices can lead to chaos, weaving together a tale of morality and the consequences of fateful decisions.

About the Author

Fredric Brown was an American science fiction, fantasy, and mystery writer. He is known for his use of humor and for his mastery of the "short short" form—stories of one to three pages, often with ingenious plotting devices and surprise endings. Humor and a postmodern outlook carried over into his novels as well. One of his stories, "Arena", was adapted to a 1967 episode of the American television series Star Trek.
