Summary

"The Golden Fleece: A Romance" by Julian Hawthorne is an adventure and romance novel set in the late 1800's. The story kicks off under the hot California sun, where General Trednoke and Professor Meschines spend their time chatting about all sorts of things. The main plot revolves around a young woman named Grace Parsloe, the daughter of a woman who has passed away. Her arrival is anticipated by the other characters. There's also a mysterious treasure tied to an old Aztec story! This contrasts with Grace's current life as a shop-girl.. As relationships start to evolve and mysteries begin to unravel, a Native American figure named Kamaiakan appears on the scene, holding secrets about the past. The author sets the stage for drama, suspense, and romance to come.
