Summary

** "Tancred; Or, The New Crusade" by Benjamin Disraeli is a story that begins in London, among fancy neighborhoods and interesting people like a young artist and a rich Duke, where the author looks at social class, wanting more out of life, and family connections. The story shows us the lives of rich people, their secret plans, and how what they choose affects them. It starts in a calm, but fancy part of Mayfair. Then, the artist visits a famous cook to talk about a party at the Duke's place. The artist is upset no one notices how good his cooking is, showing how chefs can be sensitive artists too. As the preparations for a party at a big castle happen, the book looks at wanting to be successful as an artist, what people expect from you, and the personal problems that make these characters who they are. The story will show us these characters' dreams and what they have to do for society, all set against the scene of the past. **

About the Author

Benjamin Disraeli, 1st Earl of Beaconsfield, was a British statesman, Conservative politician and writer who twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He played a central role in the creation of the modern Conservative Party, defining its policies and its broad outreach. Disraeli is remembered for his influential voice in world affairs, his political battles with the Liberal Party leader William Ewart Gladstone, and his one-nation conservatism or "Tory democracy". He made the Conservatives the party most identified with the British Empire and military action to expand it, both of which were popular among British voters. He is the only British Prime Minister to have been born Jewish.
