Summary

"The Grizzly King: A Romance of the Wild" by James Oliver Curwood is an early 20th-century story set in the Canadian Rockies. It's about a huge grizzly bear named Thor, and it looks at things like nature, staying alive, and how animals connect with each other. The story also follows Jim Langdon, a hunter, as he gets drawn into Thor's world. Jim starts to understand that hunting isn't just about killing. At the beginning, we meet Thor, who is exploring his land and is curious but careful when he smells something new. Thor seems strong and important, but the chapter also makes you think about deeper ideas like life, instincts, and how humans might change his calm, wild home. Thor lives alone until Jim Langdon and his friend come to hunt a grizzly bear. As they follow Thor, the story gets ready for when the power of nature and human goals crash into each other, showing the bear as a symbol of the wild's greatness.
