Summary

"The Duke's Children" by Anthony Trollope is a book that shows the struggles of a high-class family in England during the late 1800s. After the Duchess dies, the Duke of Omnium is sad and has to take care of their two sons and daughter by himself, while they're all growing up. A big part of the story is about Lady Mary and her love life, especially her feelings for Francis Oliphant Tregear, who isn't as wealthy as her family. The Duke has a hard time balancing what he wants for his children with what they want for themselves, leading to drama about love, family duties, and what society expects from them.
