"Ukridge" by P. G. Wodehouse is a funny story set in the early 1900s, about a guy named Stanley Featherstonehaugh Ukridge. Stanley is a likable guy with big ideas, but his plans to get rich are usually a bit crazy and don't work out. He's always trying to make money with some new business idea, like training dogs for a show, but things always go wrong in a funny way. Stanley is always optimistic and full of energy, even when his plans fail. His friend tells the stories of Stanley trying to get rich, like when he tries to start a "dog college" or when he gets into trouble with a grumpy landlord. Even though Stanley's plans are silly and don't work, he never gives up hope. The book is all about funny situations and the friendship between Stanley and the person telling the story.
