Summary

"Sir Hilton's Sin" by George Manville Fenn is a book set in the late 1800s where Sir Hilton Lisle, a wealthy baronet, is trying to leave behind his wild past of horse racing and gambling to become a politician and please his wife. The story explores how hard it is to shake off old temptations, especially when Lady Tilborough shows up with troubling news about his prized horse, La Sylphide. With the introduction of young Sydney Smithers and his aunt, Lady Lisle, the story hints at family drama and hidden ambitions while questioning social class, duty, and what it truly means to be a person of honor when faced with temptation.
