The Halo

"The Halo" by Bettina von Hutten is a story that pulls us into the lives of the peculiar Earl of Kingsmead, his delightful sister Brigit, and Victor Joyselle, a gifted violinist who finds his destiny linked to theirs. Set against the backdrop of Norman countryside and English high society, the novel examines music, love, and the rigid barriers of social class and how these elements shape the characters' paths. Beginning with a blind fiddler playing a jarring tune, a young Victor-Marie passionately steps in, leading to a beautiful melody that bridges their different worlds and reveals the deep emotions they share. Following the Earl's curious observation and interest in the community, the stage is set for exploring heartfelt connections between ordinary people made through music and experiences.
