Summary

"To Tell You the Truth" by Leonard Merrick is a story about Marie Lamande, a pianist, who leaves her small town in France to chase her dreams of becoming a famous artist in Paris. The book shows how hard it is for her to get recognized and the emotional distress she faces because of her choices. She deals with the tough parts of city life and makes a big decision when she helps a poor widow. The first part of the novel shows Marie's struggles with herself and the difficult choices she makes when she has to balance what she wants with the responsibilities she did not want.
