Summary

"The Death of the Lion" by Henry James is a story set in the early 1900s that looks at what happens when a quiet novelist named Neil Paraday suddenly becomes famous after his latest book hits it big. Paraday struggles with all the attention and how it changes his life, especially when socialites like Mrs. Weeks Wimbush and the media start wanting a piece of him. He also tries to connect with people genuinely, like a young fan named Fanny Hurter, but fame makes it hard. As Paraday gets sick and faces the end of his life, the book makes you think about how hard it can be to be successful and how fame can mess with real life and art.
