"Beyond the Great South Wall: The Secret of the Antarctic" by Frank Savile is a story from the early 1900s that follows Captain Dorinecourte and his friend Gerry as they deal with sadness after the girls they like, Gwen and Vi, leave on a ship and also the surprise of a family death. The friends had no luck in love depart and are very disappointed with their ordinary lives, when news about the death of a relative turns Dorinecourte into an important person. Then new possibilities open up to the friends involving a search for ancient coins and a journey to Antarctica, all connected to a quest that promises adventure, hidden treasures, historical puzzles, and a chance for the main characters to find new purpose in their lives.
