The Maid and the Magpie An Interesting Tale Founded on Facts

"The Maid and the Magpie" by Charles Moreton is a story from the 1800's that tells about a young maid named Annette who is working for a rich farmer, and is about being innocent and righting the justice system's wrongs. During one summer evening, Annette's life takes a bad turn due to a troublesome magpie that steals a spoon. As Annette deals with her father's problems and a new romance with Blaisot, misunderstandings cause her to be wrongfully accused of theft, and even though she did nothing wrong, she faces great danger. But, Blaisot makes a discovery, finding the real thief and proving Annette's innocence, which makes for an exciting ending that shows how love and goodness can win over bad luck and hardship.
