"Fire Prevention and Fire Extinction" by James Braidwood is a historical reflection and instructional guide on fire safety and management from the mid-1800s. It recounts his early days battling blazes and pushing for reforms in Edinburgh, where he transitioned chaotic firefighting into a systematic practice. He also advocated for better building designs and public awareness campaigns to stop fires before they start, laying the groundwork for a wealth of knowledge he shares in the book.
