Summary

"The Old Peabody Pew: A Christmas Romance of a Country Church" by Kate Douglas Smith Wiggin is a touching story from the early 1900s about love and community during Christmastime. It centers on Nancy Wentworth, a caring woman in the village of Edgewood, where the Tory Hill Meeting-House is the heart of the town. As everyone gets ready for Christmas and fixes up the church, Nancy remembers her old love, Justin Peabody, who left town years before. Luckily, Justin comes back home for Christmas, and they have a moving reunion where their feelings for each other come back. The story shows the importance of hope, love, and togetherness, and how being a community and giving to others can make big changes in people's lives, all in a charming New England setting.
