Nan of Music Mountain

"Nan of Music Mountain" by Frank H. Spearman is an early 20th-century frontier tale that unfolds in the American West, following interconnected lives filled with shootouts, stagecoach operations, and bitter disputes. The story centers on Henry de Spain, a proficient shooter facing stiff competition after arriving in Sleepy Cat, and Nan Morgan, a talented young woman who humbles him in a shooting match. This sets off an intense rivalry complicated by attraction, as Henry finds himself managing a dangerous stage line amidst outlaws and familial strife with the Morgans and their environment.
