Summary

"The Attaché; or, Sam Slick in England — Complete" by Thomas Chandler Haliburton is a funny story from the 1800s about Samuel Slick, an American working in England who is at the American Legation. The book is a funny look how Slick sees British society and how that is different from his life growing up in America. At the start, you're on a ship with Reverend Mr. Hopewell, Slick, and Jube Japan, Slick's servant, going from New York to England. Slick tells funny stories about his life, as well as what he thinks about England and America. The book makes fun of Slick and the strange weather in England, showing how different countries and cultures can be funny.
