Summary

"Winding Paths" by Gertrude Page is a story that follows Hal Pritchard, a spirited tomboy, and Lorraine Vivian, a poised and mysterious girl, as they form an unlikely but strong friendship. Their time in boarding school is filled with light-hearted rebellion and a deep fondness for one another, despite coming from different worlds. Lorraine is drawn to Hal’s lively nature, while Hal fiercely defends Lorraine. As they leave school and chase their dreams – Lorraine as an actress and Hal as a journalist – their bond is tested by the demands of their individual paths and the complexities of the world.
