Summary

"A History of the Zulu Rebellion, 1906" by James Stuart is a story about the conflict between the Zulu people and the Natal government in the early 1900s. The story explains the reasons behind the Zulu Rebellion, looking at the political and social problems that caused it, and what it meant for the Zulu community. It follows the military actions that took place and the story of Dinuzulu, a key person during this time, including his capture, trial, and what happened to him afterward. The book starts by setting the scene, describing the history between European settlers and the Zulu people from the 1800s. J. Stuart writes how these tensions started, due to early meetings with Zulu leaders, how power changed over time, and how British rules affected Zulu government and society, highlighting all the different reasons that led to fighting in 1906.
