Peter the Great

"Peter the Great" by Jacob Abbott is a historical narrative about the life of a young Russian emperor amidst family feuds and power struggles. The story begins with Peter's rise to the throne as a child, complicated by his half-sister Sophia's manipulative ploys to control the government through scheming and secret plots as she aims to take the throne. This sets the scene for Peter's growth into a powerful ruler who will eventually bring immense change to Russia, despite facing enormous challenges.
