"Dorian" by Nephi Anderson is a story about a young boy’s path to becoming a man. Early one Sunday, a boy needs shoes to attend church, a simple wish that soon turns into a journey of discovering what’s truly important to him. As the boy starts his day, he must select between buying new shoes or the exciting possibility of purchasing books. He sets off for town, dreaming of buying shoes while secretly wanting to purchase books. In the town, the boy finds himself face-to-face with a display of old books, showing his love for reading and the difficult choice between his obligation to buy new shoes and his desire for literature. Ultimately, he decides to spend his limited funds on books rather than shoes.
