Summary

"Evil Out of Onzar" by Mark Ganes is a science fiction novel set in a galaxy on edge, where the warmongering Onzarians stir up trouble with the Allied Systems as the power-hungry Candar gains power. Roger Thane finds himself caught in a web of deceit and warfare as he works to protect vital scientific secrets that could change the fate of the galaxy. Thane observes growing conflict between the Onzarian contingent, headed by the intensely patriotic Candar, and Allied Systems officials. The story paints a picture of Onzar's troubled past, revealing a civilization shaped by long periods of separation and conflict, now close to making huge technological progress but led by a leader whose fear threatens to cause widespread destruction. Assigned to safeguard the scientist Manning Reine, Thane crosses paths with Astrid Reine, who is determined to rescue her father from Candar's clutches, setting the scene for a risky battle where the futures of both people and the galaxy are at risk.
