Summary

"The Way to Win" by William Le Queux is a declaration of hope and an analysis of the shift in power as World War I unfolds. It recounts the events of the war, focusing on Britain's steadfast spirit and the collective strength of the Allied forces against Germany. The book starts with a belief in an upcoming change in the Allies' destiny as the war continues. Le Queux takes readers through the war's key moments, highlighting the early wins of the Germans and weighing them against the hidden strengths of the Allies. He suggests that although the Allies are in a tough spot with territories seized, their determination, especially that of the British, and their unified front are setting the stage for a turning point. Through factual details, strategic thinking, and a strong sense of patriotism, the book is designed to boost morale during a time shaken by war.

About the Author

William Tufnell Le Queux was an Anglo-French journalist and writer. He was also a diplomat, a traveller, a flying buff who officiated at the first British air meeting at Doncaster in 1909, and a wireless pioneer who broadcast music from his own station long before radio was generally available; his claims regarding his own abilities and exploits, however, were usually exaggerated. His best-known works are the anti-French and anti-Russian invasion fantasy The Great War in England in 1897 (1894) and the anti-German invasion fantasy The Invasion of 1910 (1906), the latter becoming a bestseller.
