Summary

"Chronicles (1 of 6): The Historie of England (3 of 8)" by Raphael Holinshed is a journey through the early years of British history, starting with legendary kings and their impact on the land. The story begins with Mulmucius, who is crowned as the first king and brings laws and order to Britain, including the building of a "temple of peace". It follows the paths of his sons, Brennus and Belinus, whose joint rule turns into a fierce sibling rivalry and leads to battles for power. This book paints a picture of how early British society was structured, how laws began to form, and how important structures were built, blending historical accounts with the myths and legends of the time to create a captivating beginning to a more complete history.
