"The Boy Explorers in Darkest New Guinea" by Warren H. Miller is an early 20th-century adventure story about a team of explorers, headed by Curator Baldwin, venturing into the wild jungles of New Guinea to find rare species and the remarkable birds of paradise. Young adventurers Dwight and Nicky accompany the experienced curator through uncharted lands full of exotic wildlife and native cultures. The team begins their exciting journey aboard a Malay proa, observing the beautiful Aru Islands as they prepare for adventure. Once they arrive, they meet the locals, learn more about the cultural richness of the area, and ready themselves for a daring scientific mission filled with dangerous encounters, including a python, in the uncharted jungle.
