Summary

"Turquois Mosaic Art in Ancient Mexico" by Marshall H. Saville is a study of the beautiful turquois mosaic art made by ancient Mexican civilizations. It shows how important these mosaics were to their culture and explains how they were made, back when many parts of native Mexican culture were fading away. The story starts by talking about how important turquois mosaics were to the ancient Mexicans. The author thinks about how much the Aztec and other groups could have done if the Europeans hadn't taken over, noting their refined society, skilled craftsmanship, and special art. The book also describes how people first learned about turquois mosaic art, mentioning what Europeans saw and studied in the past, and points out the different supplies and methods that ancient artists used. This sets the stage for learning more about this complex art and how it has lasted in Mexican culture since before the Spanish came.
