Master of None

"Master of None" by Neil Goble is a science fiction story set in the early 1960s that asks how much specialized knowledge is too much. The story follows Freddy the Fish, a man without a home who has many unique skills and knowledge. When strange messages are sent from Ganymede, Earth needs someone smart enough to understand it. Freddy's friends decide to submit his test answers and he unknowingly qualifies for the mission to communicate with aliens.
