Summary

"Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" by Anita Loos is a funny story told through journal entries of a young blonde woman named Lorelei Lee during the 1920s. The book starts with Lorelei deciding to write a journal after a man suggests she do so. In this journal we learn about Mr. Eisman and her friendship with Dorothy. Lorelei tells us about parties, dinners, and her reflections on all the men in her life. The novel uses humor to show the blend of naivety and intelligence of the main character and the norms and expectations of this time.
