The Angel in the Cloud

"The Angel in the Cloud" by Edwin W. Fuller is a poem that takes readers on an imaginative journey into the heart of existence using nature, faith, and the quest for understanding. The poem begins on a relentlessly hot day, driving the narrator to seek relief in nature's embrace, where he grapples with the world’s beauty beside its pain, questioning destiny’s role. This contemplation transforms into a dream, launching the main character into a voyage across the cosmos and face to face with an angel, revealing insights into both the divine and the trials of humankind. This sets a tone of awe, while also raising big questions about happiness and suffering.
