Summary

"Communism and Christianism" by William Montgomery Brown, is a thought-provoking book that presents a controversial comparison between two seemingly opposed ideologies. The author argues that Christianity, with its focus on the supernatural, upholds a system of inequality and allows the rich to take advantage of the poor. On the other hand, Communism is shown as a forward-thinking, science-based solution that aims to create a society without different social levels. Brown kicks things off by declaring that both traditional religion and capitalism are like parasites feeding off society, causing pain and keeping people down. He passionately argues that only by getting rid of both religion and capitalism can humanity be truly free and equal, urging readers to embrace revolutionary ideas and actions to achieve a fairer world.

About the Author

William Montgomery Brown, sometimes called "Bad Bishop" Brown, was an Episcopal clergyman and author. Brown, of Galion, Ohio, was consecrated a bishop of the Episcopal Church, but is best remembered as the first Episcopal bishop to be tried for heresy since the Reformation, and the first of any creed in America to be deposed for heretical teachings. He later became a bishop in the Old Catholic Church.
