Summary

"The Assault on Mount Everest, 1922" by C. G. Bruce is a nonfiction book that tells the real story of a British team's attempt to climb Mount Everest in the early 1920s. It is about the hard work of getting ready for the climb, including all the planning and problems the team faced before they even started up the mountain. The author describes how the team put together everything they needed, from picking the right climbers to getting supplies and hiring local helpers. The book shows how difficult it was to climb the world's highest mountain, and how the climbers had to hurry to try to reach the peak before the weather turned bad, knowing that they might not make it to the end. This book shows the courage and strong spirit of adventure that drove these climbers to try something that had never been done before.
