Summary

"The Song of the Wolf" by Frank Mayer is a story set in the American West in the early 20th century where themes of perseverance, who you are, and bouncing back are explored through interesting characters. At the heart of the story is Ken Douglass, a cowboy who is struggling with what he thinks is right and the tough facts of life, as well as what society expects from him. Early on, Douglass is dealing with his feelings on the inside, like desperately wanting someone to connect with but also feeling all alone. How he deals with feeling like he doesn't matter and dealing with what society expects is a main point in how he deals with a world that doesn't seem to care about what he wants.
