Eric, or Little by Little

"Eric, or Little by Little" by Rev Canon F.W. Farrar is a story about a young boy named Eric Williams who goes to boarding school for the first time and struggles with doing the right thing. Set in a boarding school on the Isle of Man, the book follows Eric as he deals with temptations and bad behavior. The story wants to teach lessons about being good, staying pure inside, and getting help from God when things are tough. At the start, Eric is a happy twelve-year-old excited about school, but he also feels the pressure of his family's love and what they expect from him. He's a fun-loving and innocent kid, which is different from the problems he'll face with friends and teachers. Eric's close relationship with his cousin Fanny and his caring family show that he's a good person, but also suggest the hard choices he'll have to make as he grows up, shaping who he will become.
