Summary

"Potterism: A Tragi-Farcical Tract" by Rose Macaulay is a comedic story set in the 1900s that tells about twins, Johnny and Jane Potter, as they finish college and try to figure out their lives while dealing with their novelist mother and newspaper-owner father. The twins hope to make names for themselves in literature, but they want to stay far from what they call "Potterism," which means the average writing style of their family. As they plan their futures, big ideas like ambition, family problems, and judging society come up, especially as Jane tries to be her own person despite what her family wants and what society says she should do.
