Summary

"In the Fog" by Richard Harding Davis is a suspenseful mystery that begins in London's esteemed Grill Club, where the members casually entertain themselves with discussions about adventure and the changing world around them. The story takes a sharp turn when a dense fog envelops the city -- a fog that mirrors the intrigue unfolding inside, where people get trapped in a conversation involving an inexplicable crime that has left the London police puzzled. The club's distinguished members, each entangled in their own social circles and holding unique perspectives, discover a new member, Lieutenant Ripley Sears, an American Naval Attache, who brings with him a bewildering tale of murder and disappearances. As Sears narrates his story, the narrative gains more layers of suspense and compels readers to question the motives and roles played by each character.
