"In Texas with Davy Crockett" by John T. McIntyre is an early 20th-century historical adventure where two young boys, Walter Jordan and Ned Chandler, journey to Texas to help Ethel Norton manage her inherited fortune. Their mission takes a dangerous turn when they encounter rivals, Colonel Huntley and Sam Davidge, who have their own agendas related to the growing conflict in Texas. Beginning on the steamboat "Mediterranean," the boys notice the lurking presence of Davidge and Huntley, who seem to be scheming against them. Tension mounts as Walter and Ned clash with Barker, Huntley's tough guy, leading to a brawl that they win. Soon after, they meet the famous Davy Crockett, who, upon learning about their purpose, joins them on their trek to San Antonio, intensifying the dangers and companionship on their journey.
