"Turned Adrift" by Harry Collingwood is a maritime tale of betrayal and survival set on the high seas. The story centers on the barque "Zenobia," where a young apprentice named Mark Temple finds himself in the midst of a violent mutiny as his ship is sailing through the South Atlantic. A fake fire alarm distracts many, so a group of the ship's crew overtakes the ship and captures the captain and other loyal crewmembers. Mark sees his fellow apprentice, Bainbridge, as a leader of the mutineers, who is driving the unrest among the crew. Amid the turmoil and chaos, Mark is forced to confront the mutineers and find a way to survive after he and his comrades are cast out on the open ocean.
