Summary

"Pamela Pounce: A Tale of Tempestuous Petticoats" by Agnes Castle is a historical fiction that throws us into the flamboyant world of 18th-century England, where a young milliner's assistant named Pamela bravely faces the challenges of society and fashion, starting with her time under the demanding Madame Eglantine. We first meet Pamela in a Parisian hat shop, dreaming of more after a problematic situation with Monsieur Ildefonse leads to her termination. With courage and a very limited income, Pamela journeys back to London, resolved to make a name for herself in the fashion industry. Her journey is filled with complicated relationships, like the ones with her condescending Aunt Lydia, and the daily challenges of having a low ranking position; but she will not stop until she finds her place within society and adventures that help form her to be a better person.
