Summary

"In the Sweet Dry and Dry" by Christopher Morley and Bart Haley is a humorous novel that dives into the strange world of Prohibition through the eyes of Dunraven Bleak, a newspaper editor, and Virgil Quimbleton, a strange man from the Corporation for the Perpetuation of Happiness. The story begins one hot summer evening with Quimbleton offering Bleak the secret ingredients for making mint juleps, something illegal during this time. Bleak is faced with a moral decision, but this sets him off on a series of adventures to Quimbleton's home as they come up with ways to defy the laws, spread joy, and rebel against the government's restrictions.
