Summary

"Frank Merriwell's Fun; Or, Fearless and True" by Burt L. Standish is a story about a young college student named Frank Merriwell who stands for what's right, even when it's not easy. Set in the late 1800s, the story kicks off at Yale University, where Frank encounters a group of students led by the resentful Gene Skelding, who judge and mock him. Seeing another student named Jim Hooker, who is an outcast because of his family's past, Frank decides to befriend him, despite what others think and in spite of the rumors about how his father was a criminal. As Frank tries to prove that Hooker is good, he faces challenges from those who don't trust him and the story emphasizes themes of loyalty, the unfairness of judging others, and the importance of friendship, all while following Frank's journey to help someone in need and fighting against prejudice.
