Summary

"Prince Prigio" by Andrew Lang is a late 19th-century fantasy story about a prince who's too smart for his own good. In the kingdom of Pantouflia, King Grognio and Queen Zaza finally have a son, Prigio, but because the queen doesn't believe in fairies, they aren't invited to his christening. As Prigio grows up, his intelligence makes him an outsider, even with his own father. The story follows Prigio as he deals with royal life, goes on adventures with magical creatures like the Firedrake, and copes with being super smart and meeting his family's expectations. The book playfully looks at smartness, what it means to believe, and the hard parts about being special.
