Summary

"Outcast of the Stars" by Robert Silverberg is a science fiction story centering on Yorkan Varr, banished to Earth, a dumping ground for the galaxy's unwanted, after being falsely accused of murder. The story explores the ideas of unfairness and discovering who you truly are, along with fighting back against a broken system. Taking on a new identity as John Arthur Stern, Yorkan finds himself among other exiles on Earth. When he meets Elizabeth Kirk and the evil Matt Skardoth, he learns that Skardoth, the person who set him up, is planning to take over Earth with a group of exiles. The novel follows Stern's journey to clear his name and stop Skardoth's evil plan, which uncovers a bigger scheme involving the Council of Judges who planned their exile, and the novel blends tension with a pursuit of fairness.
