Summary

"A Bird of Passage" by B. M. Croker is a story that happens in the late 1800s on the Andaman Islands, where Colonel Denis is waiting for his daughter, Helen, to visit after a long time apart. The story paints a picture of Port Blair, a place with beautiful nature and a convict settlement. When Helen gets there, she meets different people like socialites and convicts, and two people in particular named Mr. Quentin and Mr. Lisle. As Helen starts her new life, the book shows both the nice things and the hard things about living there, and hints at secrets still to be discovered.
