Summary

"The Wandering Jew — Volume 03" by Eugène Sue is a novel set in post-revolutionary France that explores the complex social and political landscape of the time through the lives of its characters. The story primarily follows Adrienne de Cardoville as she fights for freedom against controlling figures like her aunt, the Princess de Saint-Dizier, and the Abbe d'Aigrigny, who represent the oppressive forces of society. The book begins with a tense family council where secrets and confrontations rise to the surface, pitting Adrienne's desire for independence against her aunt's attempts to control her. This sets the stage for a tale of defiance of societal norms and reveals hints of a larger conspiracy.
