Summary

"More Peers: Verses by Hilaire Belloc" is a collection of funny poems from the early 1900s that tells short stories about made-up rich people and their funny problems. The poems make jokes about rich people while also making the reader think a little about what the author thinks about society. There’s a noble who hurts his voice while trying to be a politician, another who gets in trouble for something he wrote, one who has a problem with a horse, and another who becomes rich by accident, all in simple rhymes. Each poem describes the weird habits and silly mistakes of the nobles, which together creates a fun and thought-provoking view on the advantages that rich people have.

About the Author
