Summary

"Our Davie Pepper" by Margaret Sidney is a heartwarming children's story about the Pepper family, especially Davie, a sweet boy who sometimes feels less noticed than his siblings. When Davie bravely sets out to help his mother by delivering a basket, he runs into trouble with a bully, Old Man Peters, but is saved by a kind young man, Jim Thompson, who makes sure he gets home safely. This event brings the Pepper family closer as they deal with everyday problems, care for each other when they are sick, and show that love and sticking together can help them face any difficulty in their little brown house.
