Summary

"Arminell: A Social Romance, Vol. 1" by S. Baring-Gould is a story from the late 1800s that follows Arminell Inglett, a lively young woman figuring out her place in a world full of strict social rules. The book looks at what society expects from people, the desire for freedom, and the conflict between old-fashioned beliefs and the desire for something new. The story starts with a somewhat chaotic Sunday school lesson led by Lady Lamerton, where Arminell stands out because she's restless and doesn't really care for the boring routines and expectations her family and society have for her, showing right away that she's not afraid to be herself as she starts her adventure and thinks about how her social class limits her.
