In School and Out; or, The Conquest of Richard Grant.

"In School and Out; or, The Conquest of Richard Grant" by Oliver Optic is a story set in the 1800's about a rich boy named Richard Grant who likes to get into trouble. The story follows his journey as he learns from his mistakes. At the start of the story Richard, and his friend Sandy, are caught stealing watermelons from an angry man; this event shows that Richard is wild but also feels bad about what he does as he struggles with doing what's right and wrong. The story shows how Richard will need to grow as a person.
